India has just emerged from the darkness of subjugation. At this time, the people of the area are suffering from the fear that Bengal may be divided. The people of our Sadikhans Dearh area were disoriented at that time. Some are moving to East Pakistan, some are staying in India. Under the leadership of the then zamindar Dr. Shishir Kumar Mukherjee, with a view to maintaining Hindu-Muslim brotherhood, all took the initiative to build Vidyaniketan and Hospital. This Vidyaniketan was established in 1949 with the active cooperation and donations of the people in this area. All the people of Sadikhan Dearh area have contributed to build the school. He gave as much as he could. Some donated land, some donated money, some donated labor, many donated fistfuls of rice.The people of the area humbly remember the great personality who built the school over all these is Shri Shishir Kumar Mukhopadhyay. If it wasn't for him, the people of the area would not have had a school or charity hospital. However, due to dirty political reasons, the local people could not retain this great personality. Had it been kept, perhaps the walls of Sadikhan's Dearh have reached a higher level of excellence. On one hand, Dr. Shishir Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Niamatullah Mondal,Sipat Mistry, Azeruddin Biswas and others, on the other hand the Headmaster of Vidyaniketan Shri Shankar Sen Gupta ?built the structure of Vidyaniketan on the model of Santiniketan. Dr. Shishir Kumar Mukhopadhyay not only founded Vidyaniketan but also established the sense of patriotism among the Hindu-Muslims of Sadikhan's dearh area.To improve the quality of education of the people of the area and to make arrangements so that the poor people can come to the field of education, he has established Sadikhan's Dearh Rural Hospital for the ordinary working people of the area to get good treatment. We are grateful to Dr. Shishir Kumar Mukhopadhyay and we will never forget him. May his great soul rest in peace. After taking charge, the new managing committee is looking to revamp Vidyaniketan. On one side of Kala Bhavan, administrative department has been created.Three solar lights have been installed inside the school campus .In front of Kala Bhavan is a well-decorated flower garden with full-length statues of world poet Rabindranath Tagore on one side and rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on the other. A well-furnished and tasteful dining room has been established for the students of Vidyaniketan. Minority Girls Hostel, Vidyaniketan has completed a high mast light and its repair. Vidyaniketan has always tried to bring perfection with cleanliness and fresh vegetation. Above all, the discipline of the students and the quality of education has improved with the teachers. Vidyaniketan has received Nirmal Vidyalaya Award for the academic year 2023.The students of Vidyaniketan's science department won the second place in the district.There has been a great improvement in the results of the secondary and higher secondary examinees. After all, the land of Vidyaniketan was recovered from the land occupied by others and all the sharecroppers were sent to Vidyaniketan.I have tried to keep Matrisam Vidyaniketan as much as possible, not as the president of Vidyaniketan's management committee, but as an alumnus. In this regard, efforts are being made to maintain and protect the fair environment of Vidyaniketan for the sake of the people of the area, for the sake of the students, for the sake of the teachers, ignoring all the obstacles and revengeful attacks. As the president of Vidyaniketan, my appeal to the well-wishers, alumni and people of the area is to preserve the old traditions of Vidyaniketan and participate in its future development.
